About this car:
The third-generation Volkswagen Scirocco, launched in 2008, was a modern reimagining of VW's classic sports coupé. Built on the VW Golf Mk5 platform, it had a bold, low-slung design with a wide stance, sharp headlights, and muscular lines, giving it a distinctive, sporty look. Inside, the cabin was driver-focused, with supportive seats, a sporty steering wheel, and enough rear-seat and cargo space to make it surprisingly practical for a coupé.
The Scirocco offered several turbocharged engine options: a 1.4 TSI, a 2.0 TSI, and a 2.0 TDI diesel. The top-of-the-line Scirocco R boasted a powerful 2.0L turbocharged engine with around 276 hp, making it a competitive choice among performance compacts. The car's low center of gravity and responsive steering made for a fun, agile drive, with Adaptive Chassis Control (ACC) allowing drivers to adjust suspension settings to suit their preference.
In 2014, the Scirocco received a facelift, with minor styling tweaks and improved efficiency. Despite its popularity, production ended in 2017 as VW shifted focus to SUVs, leaving the Scirocco as a beloved modern classic, known for its stylish looks and enjoyable performance.
